Math Projects:

Math is a subject that most students run away from or are only comfortable with number problems or when confined to a textbook. The obvious fact is that, math is all around us an in the most unexpected places. I want my students to develop if not a love then at least respect and value for the subject. I want them to be comfortable with dealing with it and all its forms: that is what education of any subject is about.

As part of their math curriculum, I will be assigning mini- math projects. The students have already started working on interesting and creative problems during math center time but I want them to work on math problems that develop over a few days’ period. Who knows, this could lead to a Math Fair by the end of the year iA? J

The students will receive detailed instructions as they keep getting new projects.
