Thanks for taking the time to get to know
more about our school.
Amelia County Elementary School (ACES) is
located 45 minutes west of Richmond; in Amelia, Virginia. Amelia County Middle
and Amela County High School are also located in the county.
Here are some quick facts:
ACES is home to ACE the Tiger- our school
mascot
ACES serves students in grades
Kindergarten-Fourth grade and also Headstart/Evenstart. Pod B side of the
building is home to the Kindergarten, First and Second grade classrooms. Pod C
side of the building is home to Third and Fourth grade and Special Education
classrooms.
The school year begins the end of August
and runs through the beginning of June. The school day begins at 7:55am and
ends at 2:50pm.
Our school operates on a seven color day
rotation. Students have the opportunity to attend six different resources
including: art, gym (they get to go twice in one rotation!), music, computer,
library, and spanish!
ACES participates in a schoolwide positive
behavior program- the ROAR program. ROAR- stands for Respectful, Organized,
Appropriate and Responsible.
Students learn and practice expectations
for the classrooms, hallways, bathrooms, cafeteria, playground, assemblie and
buses. Each time a student is "caught" demonstrating the appropriate behavior,
they are rewarded with a PAW. Students save their PAWS and are able to spend
them at the Paw Store. There are special events at the end of each nine weeks.
Students who earn a set number of paws during the nine weeks, are able to
attend the fun/rewarding ROAR events!!
