Calculating Your Child's Grades

Not sure whether to put a deposit down on that summer vacation or summer camp in the chance your child has to attend summer school?  If your child is having academic difficulty and you want a quick and easy way to predict the grades your child will need to be promoted to the next grade level, read on!

First, lets review the requirements and guidelines for promotion to the next grade level.  Students must pass all four academic subjects:  English, Math, Science, and Social Studies.  The minimum passing grade is 70D!

A student can only take two courses for summer school!

How can you calculate your child's grades?  Below is the formula:

MP1 + MP2 + MP3 + MP4 = TOTAL POINTS

D = 280+ Total Points = 70+ final grade
C = 308+ Total Points = 77+ final grade
B = 340+ Total Points = 85+ final grade
A = 372+ Total Points = 93+ final grade

Grading Scale:   A = 93-100
                         B = 85-92
                         C = 77-84
                         D = 70-76
                         F = 69 and below

Below are examples of a student promotion and a student retention:

                              MP1      MP2      MP3      MP4              Total Points
Example #1.:          82/C  +   91/B  +  86/B  +   97/A     =             356    (Promoted)

Example #2:           43/F  +   56/F  +   75/D  +   82/C     =             256    (Retained)
