Homework

--Guided Reading has begun! Check your child's backpack each evening to see if
his/her Guided Reading Bag was sent home. When your child's Guided Reading Bag
comes home, listen to your child read the book to you & help him/her as
necessary using "The Parents' Guide to Guided Reading." After your child reads
to you, please record the title and date as well as sign the Reading Log. The
Guided Reading Bag should be sent back to school the very next day with the
Reading Log and book safely enclosed.

--Read every night with your child!

--Please complete at least two activities per week with your child from the
Monthly Activity Calendar that comes home at the beginning of each month.

--Your child's Word Wall Poetry Folder will come home on the last Friday of
each month. Please read the poems with your child, make a few comments about
what you heard, and then return the folder on the following Monday.
