Students must be at school by 9:10 a.m. or will be marked tardy.

Can I volunteer?

Absolutely.  We will begin asking for volunteers at Back to School Night.  
We need parents to help copy, laminate, etc.  We also need parents to help 
in the classroom and with special projects.  Parents are needed to help with 
Field Day and to chaperone our field trip.  We would also like parents to 
help organize class celebrations.  There will be plenty of volunteer 
opportunities available so please feel welcome!

We are planning to take a field trip and you will receive more information
closer to that time.

There will be some homework throughout the year, especially listening to 
your child read his/her Guided Reading books.

How can my child purchase lunch at school?

The price of lunch is $2.00, and you can send cash or a check (made payable 
to Prince William County School Food & Nutrition Services) in your child's 
orange folder. You can also make prepayments online by visiting 
mylunchmoney.com.

Will my child have snack at school?

We eat snack before Encore (10:35) and you need to send a snack and drink to 
school each day for your child.  We do not eat lunch until 1:00 so a snack is
a must!

How can I find out my child's Encore schedule?

I send a monthly calendar home (at the beginning of each month) that indicates
what the Encore schedule is daily.  You can also check the Class Schedule tab
on the website to see our Encore rotation schedule.

What should I do if my child is absent?

On the first day your child returns back to school after an absence, please
send a note in your child's orange folder. In this note, please include the
date(s) and reason for the absence. Bennett Elementary needs this note in
order to excuse an absence.

If you know your child will be out in advance for a family trip or
appointment, you may send in a note prior to the event.
