Bennett Elementary SMARTBoard Application

2008-09 School Year

The SMARTBoard is another tool in your arsenal to ignite learning.  It is also a chance to seamlessly integrate technology into your daily teaching practices.  Currently we have one SMARTBoard to be mounted in a classroom.

When you have a SMARTBoard technology in your classroom, you agree to:

1.   Design your room around the set up of a SMARTBoard.

2.    Listen to at least one SMARTBoard Lessons Podcast  http://pdtogo.com/smart/ each month.

3.    Upload at least one lesson a month to the SMART Exchange http://exchange.smarttech.com/default.aspx

with the help of your ITRT.

4.    Become familiar and use the various items in the Lesson Activity Toolkit and share at least 2 different ideas during the 5 minute Tech Tips at faculty meetings.

For your application to be complete you need to do the following:

1.    Search the lessons on the SMARTtech site.  Download a notebook activity that you would use with your students and explain how you would use it.

2.   Create a lesson in using SMART notebook 10 that you would use with your students.  Tell me how it would enhance the lesson and how your students would interact with the board.

3.    Explain 3 ways you would use the SMARTBoard to enhance your everyday classroom practice.  For example: doing attendance on the SMARTBoard by having the students either write or drag their name to a table asking them the question of the day.

4.    Describe how you have worked with other staff members to integrate technology and how this technology could bring change across your grade level.

The application and your lesson is due by October 1, 2008.
