Seeing the Counselors

The most common way that students see the school counselors is through classroom guidance lessons.
Students may also see the counselors individually through self-referral, parent referral, and referrals by
teachers and/or administration. The school counselors also run small groups on various topics for each
grade level. Students are referred to these groups in the same manner. Referral slips can be found in
the hallways and in classrooms. Parents who would like to refer their child to the counselor are
encouraged to call or email the school counselor.

In order to see the counselor on an ongoing basis about the same issue, the school counselor must
have parent permission.
