What does 'school closed - code red' mean?

Bennett will be closed and no one reports to school or work.

What does 'school closed - code green' mean?

Bennett will be closed for students and teachers but administrators and 
custodial staff will report.

What are the times for a 2-hour delay?

Grades 1-5: 11:10 - 3:40
AM Kindergarten: 11:10 - 1:25 (no snack)
PM Kindergarten: 1:25 - 3:40 (no snack)

What happens if schools close early?

The time for closure will be determined by the Central Office.  The Telephone 
Tree and our AutoDialer will be activiated to inform parents of the dismissal 
time.  Parents should also tune into local news broadcasts for the latest 
information.  Parents can also call the PWC Information Line at 703.791.2776 
for the latest on school closings.

Are family trips considered excused absences?

Only if you submit your plans in writing to Mrs. Fogarty and receive approval 
prior to the trip.

Can work be prepared for my child's extended absence?

For normal, short-term absences, work will not be provided, in accordance 
with school policy.  The student will make up the work upon their return to 
school.  Work will not be provided for vacations taken during the school 
year.  For extended absence due to illness, work can be provided with prior 
notice.
