CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS

Mrs. Shaneyfelt

EVALUATION/GRADING

The nine weeks grade will be calculated using tests (50%), quizzes, labs (30%), notebook checks/portfolios/projects (20%).  Tests and notebook checks are given at the end of a chapter or a major topic.   Quizzes are given at least once a week.  Homework is assigned every block.

Test corrections may be done to add points to the test grade.  The test corrections must have the question and the answer written out completely.  The original test paper must be signed by the parent/guardian.  Half-credit is given for each correction.  Test corrections are due the next block.

Extra credit is not usually given.

STUDENT CONDUCT

Students should be in their seats and ready to work when the bell rings.  Students should raise their hands and wait to be acknowledged before speaking.  Inappropriate talking in class includes asking a classmate for a pencil or a piece of loose leaf.  Students should remain in their seats unless given permission to move about the room.  Pencils should be sharpened before class begins.  Trash should be held until leaving the classroom.

The VBCPS Code of Conduct is to be followed as well as the BMS Code of Conduct.  Consequences for infractions include detentions and referrals.

MAKE-UP WORK

Students are expected to make up any work missed due to an excused absence within five school days of the last absence.

Extra help is available in the morning before school with 24 hours notice.
