This analytic rubric is used to verify specific tasks performed when producing a PowerPoint presentation. If the task has been successfully completed, all points are awarded. No points are awarded if the task is not complete.

Title Slide 5 points	This slide features the title of the presentation and includes the author's name. A graphic or picture is included that relates to the most important concept of the presentation. (The title should be the largest font on the slide)	5
Introduction Slide 5 points	This slide provides a thesis statement that makes the research topic clear.	5
Report of Research 45 points	Scientific terms and concepts are properly used.	10
	All concepts within the assigned topic are covered.	10
	Research findings are presented in the student's words, not "cut and pasted" from research references.	15
Conclusion Slide 5 points	This slide ties the total presentation to the thesis statement.	5
Bibliography Slide 10 points	This slide shows all research references used for the presentation. (Make a bulleted list of the references.)	10
Slide Composition 15 points	Font size makes each slide easily read from a distance. (Remember, PowerPoint is meant to be viewed from a distance, not sitting in front of the computer. Do not try to put too much information on one slide.)	5
	Color combinations make the information easy to read. (Font should stand out against the background.)	5
	Graphics or pictures add to the impact of the slide. (Graphics should be used in support of information, not in place of it.)	5
Overall Presentation 10 points	The overall presentation has a professional look. (Include, but are not limited to: Choice of colors and graphics is for a teen audience, not elementary. Slide transitions add to the presentation, not detract from it. Slide margins are centered on the computer screen. There are no grammar or spelling errors.)	10
PowerPoint Tools 5 points Story Board 10 points	All assigned PowerPoint tools have been used. (Tools include slide transitions, motion, sound, and timing.) The story board illustrates the slide presentation structure with sketches of each slide including title of slide, text, placement and size of graphic, fonts, color, type for text and headings. All slides are numbered and there is a logical sequence to the presentation.	5 10

Deadline	PowerPoint presentations will be accepted the day after the deadline for one letter grade lower. No credit will be given after this time.
