Students are required to read 15-20 minutes each night. Books may be from
their reading bag, their library books or books at home. Please initial
their calendar every night to show that you saw what behavior color they
were on that day and that your child completed their nightly reading. Please
initial the reading calendar nightly to show that your child read.
Homework is now coming home. IT DOES NOT come every night. It will come as we
get to the assignments in the Math book or to go with special topics. Please
have your child complete it and return it to school the following day.
Homework is designed to be independent work and for first grade should not
take more than 20-30 minutes. The nightly reading is the majority of our homework.
