Questions for the librarian:
- What are some of your favorite children's books?
- Have you read any great books lately?
- Why did you become a librarian?
- If you weren't a librarian, what other job would you love to have?
What are some of your favorite children's books?
Charlotte's Web byE.B. White is my all time favorite children's
book. However, I don't read it out loud much, because I have a
hard time not crying in one particular part!
I also enjoy any book by Marguerite Henry (horse books, the Junie
B. Jones series by Barbara Park, The Very Hungry Caterpillar by
Eric Carle, Corduroy and A Pocket For Corduroy by Don Freedman
and the Harry Potter books by J.K. Rowling. There are so many
others, I can't list them all here!
Have you read any great books lately?
Yes, I recently read a really good chapter book that 3rd and 4th
graders would enjoy called Every Soul a Star by Wendy Mass. It is
about a group of unlikely friendas who end up watching a full
solar eclipse at a campground called the "Moon Shadow." I learned
a lot about astrology in this book!
Why did you become a librarian?
I have always loved books, ever since I could read. Actually even
before that. My parents read to me as a baby and toddler and I
have just always loved reading. In college, I had a part time job
in the Longwood Library and that is what made me decide that a
librarian would be the perfect career for me.
If you weren't a librarian, what other job would you love to have?
It sounds odd, but I would love to be an FBI profiler. I would
like to study psychology and track criminals.
