Tuesday 5/26 - We are working on our biomes project.  These are due 
Thursday.  Also, 6th and 7th period were given two extra credit opportunities 
today.  The last day to turn these in for credit is next Tuesday.  1st and 
2nd will recieve the same opportunities tomorrow.  The last day for 1st and 
2nd to turn theirs in will be next Wednesday. 
MIDTERMS went home last Thursday.  If you haven't seen one, please ask your 
student.

Friday 5/15- I returned the kingdom projects to 6th and 7th period students 
today. Their last day to return these for a better grade is Monday 5/18.  
These are the projects that we spend 4 weeks on in-class.
Tuesday 5/13 - I returned the kingdom projects yesterday to students in 1st 
and 2nd periods.  They have until tomorrow to return these for a better 
grade.  Please encourage students to correct these and return them. I'm 
hoping 6th and 7th will receive theirs Fri. 6th and 7th will need to return 
theirs on Monday. We are working on chapter 18.  Please check their 
notebooks. 
Tuesday 4/21 - See Monday 4/20
Monday 4/20 - We are continuing to work on the kingdom projects, in class.  
We will be working on this for about two more weeks.  Extra credit projects 
have been offered and will be accepted for this 6 weeks through Wednesday 
4/22.  Notebooks were due on Friday.  Because of a death in my family, I 
didn't collect them.  I will collect them on Wednesday and the grade will 
count on this 6 weeks.  Notebooks always count as two grades. 

Students need pictures of organisms in the 6 kingdoms.  If you have the 
internet they can print from there or use any old magazines you may have.  I 
have also supplied some catalogs for them to use.


Tuesday 4/13 -WELCOME BACK=:)  We started an in class project today that 
should take the next couple of weeks to complete.  This will include 
questions, labs, videos, etc.  Notebooks are due at the end of this week and 
should be completed through page 143. Several different extra credit 
opportunities were offered today.  
Thursday 4/2- Please complete your notebooks through pg.142. We'll continue 
to work on page 143 tomorrow. Don't forget, tomorrow is the LAST day you can 
turn in the extra credit proster. Extra credit can not be turned in late. 
Tuesday 3/24 - Please complete your locker classification drawing tonight.  
Don't forget your extra credit project due next week. 
Tuesday 3/17-Tonight's homework is to complete your classification activity, 
define the 1st 3 words on txbk page 202.  Set up your unit/sticker page in 
your notebook on page 128.  Your vocabulary should be on page 129 of your 
notebook.  
Monday 3/16 - Today we checked the study guide to review for tomorrow's test 
on evolution.  NOTEBOOKs are due tomorrow, pages 116-126. 
Tuesday 3/10- Today we finished yesterday's lab and graphed our results. 
Study/review your notebooks. 
Wednesday- 2/25  Today we reviewed genetcis and punnett squares to prepare 
for the unit test on Friday and Monday.  We also watched a short video on 
Forensics.  Notebook are due this Friday. 
Tuesday 2/24/09 - Today we continued our work with genetics notes and a cross 
word puzzle.  All the answers have something to do with the vocabulary words 
relating to genetics. Study Guide is due tomorrow.
onday 2/23/09 -  Unit test on Friday.  Notebooks are due on Friday.  Today 
some students went to the lab, everyone worked on imcomplete dominance.  
Wednesday - Please check notebooks. These should be completed through page 
106. 
Friday 2/6/09 - We worked on Punnett Squares today.  Please complete 
notebooks through pg. 95
TUESDAY 1/27/09 - Don't forget to finish your study guides and page 88 in 
your notebooks. Finish you notebook, page 59-88.   Notebook test tomorrow for 
1st and 6th period.  Notebook test Thursday for 2nd and 7th period.  
Friday 1/23/09 - Study Guides were given yesterday.  They are due TUESDAY.
Unit test will be next Thursday or Friday.  There will also be a notebook 
test on pages 59 - current page.  Please make sure notebooks are completed.

Wednesday/Thursday - Jan. 14/15, 09 - We discussed and drew examples of 
diffusion and 
osmosis.  Our homework is to complete notebooks from page 1 to 85.  
TUESDAY - Jan. 13, 09 - We watched a video and turned in a review.  
Homework:  Please check your child's notebook.  Every page up to and 
including page 82 should be completely finished. 
MONDAY - Jan. 12, 2009 - We did a lab on Osmosis today.  Please make sure 
notebooks are completed through page 82.  We will be having open notebook 
warm-ups this week. 
MONDAY JANUARY 5, 2009 - HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I returned the cell booklets (project below).  We discussed how to fix these 
to improve the grades.  We also discussed "doing their best" on all 
assignments.  The last day these booklets can be returned to improve their 
grades is Wednesday, 1/7/09.
Monday 12/15 - We started an in class project today, which is due on 
Thursday. Please check for completed notebooks through page 74. 
Thursday 12/11 - We continue to work on cell organelles.  Please check 
notebooks to see if your child has completed everything through page 74. 
Tuesday 12/9 - We've been working on cell organelles.  There will be another 
quiz on cell organelles on Thursday of this week. 
FRIDAY 11/21 - Today we watched a video on cell organelles.  Homework - 
complete notebooks through page 69. 
PLEASE check your child's supplies: pencils, colored pencils, and tape.

MONDAY 11/17 - We continued working on cells parts identification - finish 
for homework.  I collected microscope notebooks today.  I will return those 
tomorrow. 
WEDNESDAY 11/12/08 - Homework: complete the vocabulary for chapter 3 
sections 
1 and 2.  Double check the microscope unit as the notebooks will be taken up 
soon. 
MONDAY 11/10 - Lab today.  Homework is to complete your notebooks through 
page 57.
MONDAY 10/27- We started learning the parts and functions of the microscope 
today.  Students need to complete the color coding started in class today.  
Please study for the quiz on Thursday for this information.  Tomorrow is the 
last day for the extra credit project to be turned in. 
Friday 10/25 - Mid terms were sent home today.  Students can recieve extra 
credit points if these are returned Monday, signed.  We had a review quiz 
today and worked on our microscope notes and puzzles.  The puzzle was given 
on Wednesday and should be complete. Don't forget, the last day to turn in 
the extra credit project is Tuesday - no late project will be accepted for 
any reason. See Monday 10/20 for directions.
 Tuesday 10/21 - Today we watched a video to review needs of animals, 
checked 
classwork/homework handouts from last week, and reviewed study guide for the 
UNIT TEST TOMORROW.  PLEASE STUDY!
Monday 10/20 - The unit test has been moved to Wednesday to allow for more 
study time.  I gave an extra credit poster assignment today. The sheet I 
gave 
today must be stapled to the back of the project and turned in NO LATER then 
Tuesday, Oct. 28th.  I do NOT accept extra credit late for any reason.  The 
due date is on or before Tuesday, Oct. 28th. Please see the handout under 
science handouts on this website. 
Friday 10/17  - Study guides were due today.  The unit test is Tuesday.  
Please remind your student to study.  Two activity sheets are due on 
Tuesday, 
It's alive and a crossword puzzle.  Both are due on Tuesday. 
Wednesday 10/15 - The students worked on a characteristics and needs packet 
for 7 class days last week and this week.  I have allowed them to take the 
packets home to night to complete and check for mistakes.  Please remind 
them 
to be sure and bring return them tomorrow.  Thanks!
Monday 10/13 - Students need to correct the graph packet I returned today.  
This needs to be turned in tomorrow. 
Monday - Friday 10/6-10/10  Due to surgery, I will not be at CMS this week.  
The students will be working on an IN CLASS packet for Characteristics and 
Needs of all Living Organisms. Please stress to your students the need to be

Tuesday- 9/30-We continued working on graphing today.  Thursday is the unit 
test and notebooks are due. Please check notebooks for completion through 
pages 38. 
Monday- 9/29 - We worked on different types of graphs today.  Notebooks 
should be completed and are due Thursday and Friday.  Thursday is the unit 
test.  The study guide is due tomorrow. 
Thursday 9/25 - We reviewed metric measurement today and checked answers on 
other activities.  We will receive a study guide tomorrow for the unit test 
next Thursday.  Notebooks are due next Thursday and Friday.  
Tuesday 9/23 - We reviewed metric measurement by measuring with a metric 
ruler.  I gave everyone a ruler to keep.  We completed a metric measurement 
sheet in class and started a metric house. This needs to finished for 
homework.
MONDAY 9/22 - MANY students did not turn in their writing assignments 
today.  Tomorrow is their 1st late day with a 25 point penalty. 
Notebooks should be completed through page 30 by tomorrow. 
FriDAY 9/19 - We participated in a cola tasting lab using the scientific 
method.  Students need to complete their writing assignments, which are due 
Monday. 
Thursday 9/18 - We watched a video on the scientific method and received a 
writing assignment.  Each student needs to choose 3 from the 5 prompts.  
These are due on Monday, 9/22.
Wednesday 9/17 - Continued working of observation skills by using our sense 
of sight and hearing.  We completed an open notebook quiz.  Please make sure 
all notebook pages are completed through page 27.
Tuesday 9/16 We continued working on observation skills by using our sense 
of 
hearing. Open notebook quiz completed in class. Tonight's homework is on 
page 
24 on our notebooks; experiment #2. 
Monday 9/15 We continued working on observation skills by using our sense of 
sight.  Tonight's homework is on page 24 of our notebooks.  Define the 
vocabulary words, read and answer the questions for experiment #1. 
TUESDAY 9/9 We continued working on the bench mark pre-test.  Students 
should 
complete defineing the 13 vocabulary words and work on the puzzle in their 
notebooks.  Vocabulary is due tomorrow. WE NEED FRESH MILKWEED. THANKS!
Monday 9/8 Today we started a bench mark pre test so I can understand where 
our students are in reguards to life science.  Tonight, students can work on 
the 13 vocabulary words in their notebooks, pg. 14.  These words can be 
found 
on pages 28 and 29 of the textbook.
Wednesday 9/3 Today was the unit test and turned in notebooks.  Our homework 
is to complete the "Following directions" activity. 
Thusday 8/28- Please look at your child's notebook everynight. They should 
have completed through page 10 tonight.  Today we added page 9, the life 
cycle chart, which we filled in together; page 10 -Drawing the life cycle of 
the Monarch and 11, the study guide for the unit test.
Wednesday - 8/27/08 - Please start reviewing your notebooks for the unit 
test next Wednesday.  Notebooks are due next Wednesday also. Students should 
have finished through page 8.  I'm sorry to report that my email isn't 
working this afternoon.  If you have emailed me, I can't read or respond to 
email.  I'll try later tonight and tomorrow.  Hopefully, the problem will be 
fixed soon. 
Tuesday - 8/26/08 - Today I checked pages 2,3,and 4 in the notebooks.  This 
was for extra credit and to make sure that all students are up to date.  
Please check your child's notebooks.
