WHAT IS THE FFA?
The FFA is a dynamic youth organization
within agricultural education that changes lives and prepares students for
premier leadership, personal growth and career success. The organization was
created in 1928 as the Future Farmers of America, but changed its name in 1988
to the National FFA Organization to reflect the growing diversity of
agriculture. Today, almost half a million students are engaged in a wide range
of agricultural education activities leading to over 300 career opportunities
in food, fiber and natural resources.
WHAT DO THE LETTERS STAND FOR?
The letters FFA stand for "Future Farmers
of America" however, the organization has grown to encompass all aspects of
agriculture, from farming to agribusiness and forestry to biotechnology,
floriculture, marketing and food processing. Today's FFA is about much more
than farming. Today's FFA is full of future veterinarians, scientists, writers
