Happy New Year!!!!  I look forward to a great 2010!!! This week we will continue to study the Native Americans.  We will review where each of the Native American groups lived within the United States.  Also, we will begin studying details of the lives of both the Lakota and Pueblo Indians.  Our Native Americans test is scheduled for January 15th.  Students should be working on their World Culmination project for Social Studies.  This project counts as a test grade.

It is important that your child writes their homework down in their agendas daily. Homeroom teachers will check to see that this has been done and sign on the page. It is recommended that parent initial the agendas nightly. This helps us to keep students from falling behind in their assignments. If a student has misplaced their agenda I will send home a note letting you know.

Students are to continue to read and take A.R. tests on a daily basis. They are also allowed to visit the library to check out books once a week. I also will have A.R. books checked out in my name that the students may use while here at school. Currently, Elizabeth Newman has the most A.R. points in our class. Mrs. Page's class is currently in the lead. Let's try and catch up. Keep reading and work to increase reading fluency and comprehension.

I appreciate all your help and support.  If you have any questions feel free to call or email me.
