Mrs. Morgan
I have two children of my own who attended Fairfield and I have enjoyed
teaching kindergarten and third grade at Fairfield for several years. I
graduated from Old Dominion University in May of 2004 with a Master's Degree
in Early Childhood Education. I was also awarded the Meritorious New
Teacher Candidate Designation by the Mid-Atlantic Teacher's Project for my
demonstrated abilities to improve student learning. I love working with
young children because of the tremendous strides they make in such a short
period of time. I look forward to working with your children every day.
Mrs. Barbachem
I have been teaching special education for 21 years. I have worked with
students in Kindergarten through 5th grade. I got my degree in Special
Education from Old Dominion University. I was selected as Reading Teacher
of the Year last year at Fairfield Elementary. It was a great honor for me
as I love teaching reading. I have two children and they are both in high
school. I am looking forward to working with you and your children this
year!
My philosophy of teaching is centered on the student as an individual and
his part in a learning community. I reflect each day on the progress of my
students and the progress I am making toward my goals as a teacher. I try to
ensure that my instructional practices and classroom management are working
to foster a lifelong love of learning in my students. I help each student
in my care develop into a resourceful, productive member of our classroom.
