**************************************************************************** December 5, 2009 Nutrition, Nutrition - We had a fun week discussing all of the things that we need to keep our bodies healthy. We made a lunchbox, tacos and Mr./Mrs. Potato Head. We also cut out our own shopping cart and glued some grocery items in our carts that we chose. On Friday we had a bowl of cheerios as our snack to go along with our craft. We had two program practices for our upcoming performances on Tuesday and Wednesday. Mrs. Jarjoura talked to us about the Baby Jesus and let us feel what the straw that Baby Jesus slept on was like. We all decided that our beds are much softer. The Advent Season has begun and Pastor Bugg lit the first candle on the Advent Wreath in Chapel. He told us that the first candle is the Candle of Hope and that means "God keeps his promises." Christmas, of course, will be the theme until our Christmas Break. Many fun and festive things are planned. We will end with our Christmas Party on December 18. A sign-up sheet is listed outside the classroom. Please remember that no nut products are allowed. We will see you all on December 8 and/or on December 9 for our performance. ****************************************************************************** MANNERS: Saying "Please, Thank You, Excuse Me" Table Manners (sitting with two feet in front in you while eating, not playing with friends or food, saying "Please" instead of "Give me" or "I want") Sneezing or coughing into your sleeve Listening while the teacher is talking Sharing Waiting your turn Playground (not throwing rocks or sand) Chapel (being quiet, keeping your feet off the wood surface, sitting all the way back in the pew so you don't hit your head) I know that these seem like a lot for your children to remember, but you do have very smart children. These are basic manners that we will be working with all year as they are very important social skills. You can help by reinforcing them at home as well. Believe it or not, these basic manners will help them be successful in life.
Or, would you like to view and optionally restore one of these previous versions?
