Help/Coaching is available almost every
day after school!!
Requirements:
I. Scales: 2 octaves major scales
(except bass - one octave)
Quarter note = mm.120 [this means play
twice as fast as the second hand]
C, G, D, A
F, Bb, Eb
These scales will be taught and tested
throughout the first semester at JRHS
II. Etude (technical exercise)--will be
handed out in late November
III. Sight reading--this is the true
test of how much do you practice, how
much music are you exposed to, and how
actively do you use your brain while you are playing.
When: January 6th, 2007

Dress: Come as you are – casual.
Time: Arrive no later than 9:00 a.m.
in order to tune & warm-up.
Auditions begin promptly at 9:30 a.m.
If you arrive after 10:00 you cannot
audition, and you will probably have missed your audition.
Bring:
*Your instrument,
*your own copy of the excerpts & a
scales
*pencils, extra strings, rockstop,
etc.
*You do not need a stand, but it may be
helpful in the warm-up area.
*You
can not use a scale book in the audition, but it may be helpful beforehand.
