| Welcome to John B. Dey Elementary School! The first students to John B.
Dey arrived in September, 1956 for grades five through seven. In the
following school year, grades one through four were added. The first
kindergarten classes were added in 1973. Now the school serves students in
kindergarten through fifth grade. Hopefully new students will get to meet
with the counselors when their Student Host gives a tour of the building.
Each class has two Student Hosts, one girl and one boy. When a new
student arrives, the Student Host will be that new student's buddy and help
them learn the ropes of our school. The Student Host will provide a tour of
the school as well as introduce the new student to key faculty members(Art,
Music, Computer, and P.E.)The Student Host will introduce the new student to
the classmates and help to answer any questions the new student may have
about John B. Dey. Before long, the new student will be making his or her
own friends and will be comfortable at John B. Dey. We hope to make the
transition into John B. Dey as smooth as possible for everyone!
