Biography
I live in Laurel Cove and am married with three sons. I taught first grade
for 3 years before my children were born. I was very fortunate to be able to
stay home with them for 12 years. I came back to teaching in 1993 and have
been at John B. Dey, teaching kindergarten and second grade, since then.
My boys Scott, Tim, and Chris all went to John B. Dey, Great
Neck Middle, and Cox High School.They are grown now. My husband and I
have an "empty nest"! Scott is in Law Scool at George Mason University. Tim
was married last November and lives with his wife, Nikki( another school
teacher) in Staunton, Virginia. He is currently completing an internship
with Young Life. Chris, my youngest, is in his third year at the University
of Virginia. I am very proud of them all and constantly tell my students
about all of their little antics when they were in grade school. My boys
usually take time when they are home to come and meet my classes. Tim even
substituted for me one day!
My husband, Peter, and I have been happily married for 30 years. He is a
salesman for Sprint Communications. The children will get to know him as
well.
I love my job and feel very fortunate to work in such a fine school. I hope
we will share an outstanding year together. Let's keep the lines of
communication open.
My mission, as a teacher, is to be sure that each student
believes in themselves, has positive attitude each day, and is able to
achieve their personal best this year. My classroom will be a safe place for
them to grow and shine!
