Fitness Testing Photos/Descriptions

Curl Ups

Students lie on their back with
their knees bent and feet flat on
the floor. Arms
are out straight with their hands
three inches from the edge of the
mat. Students slide their hands
toward the end of the mat when the
cadance says up and back down to
start position when the cadance
says down.

Trunk lift

Students lie down on the mat with
their hands under their thighs.
The student, while keeping their
eyes focused on the mat, lift
their torso up off of the mat. A
partner measures the distance
between the bottom of their chin
and the mat.

Push Ups

Students start with their weight
on their toes and hands with a
flat back. On the cadance
of "down", students lower their
body creating a 90 degree angle
with their arms. They return to
the starting position on the "up"
cadance.

Back Saver Sit and Reach

This test measures the flexibilty
of the hamgstrings (back of legs)
and lower back. It is performed by
extending one leg out straight
while bending the other. Students
will keep their hands on top of
each other and reach down the yard
stick

Pacer

Students must run as long as
possible back and forth across a
20 meter space at a specified pace
that gets faster each minute
