Homework

                            Homework Practices:

Homework will come home in the form of a weekly planner. Homework sheets
will come home on Mondays and have assignments for the whole week. PLEASE,
ONLY TURN IN THE HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS ON THE DAYS THAT
THEY ARE DUE. If your child turns in assignments early, they can be
misplaced and your child may not get credit for their work. If your child
does not turn in homework, or is late with an assignment, they will have to
sign and date the classes "Uh-Oh" book. If there is no attached worksheet
for an assignment, then it needs to be completed in the homework notebook.
Tear out the page and send it in on the due date. It is important that your
child's NAME is on all of their homework.
Please make it clear to your child from the beginning that homework is THEIR
responsibility. They must always do their best work. This does not mean
perfect work and there is a difference between the two. The purpose of
homework is to establish responsibility, routine, and to reinforce what we
learn in class. If you would like to add more challenging work or
reinforcement to the nightly rountine, please feel free. You are your
child's first and best teacher. You know your families routine. Please
supplement the homework to best suit your child's needs.
Please do homework with your child. Check it, and review it with them.
This
is an opportunity for you to talk about your child's day, review what they
have learned, and discover any weak areas. Homework should not be done by
you, however it should be a joint venture. It should not be arduous and
painful, but fun and enriching.
