Bullying Awareness

  Bullying Awareness:
Bullying is defined as: Behaviors that are done to someone that hurt them
physically, emotionally, or socially. These behaviors are done repeatedly
in a short time frame, they are also done intentionally to cause harm, and
there becomes an imbalance of power causing the victim to feel they are
powerless to make the behaviors stop.
Bullying can happen in person, over the phone, and through the internet.
There are things your child can do to stop bullying. The most important
thing to do to prevent bullying is to report it to an adult. Children can
tell any adult that they trust. Students at school can also fill out the
bully report form that is in the code of behavior, and can be located on the
county website through the department of student services link.
A copy of this report at the bottom of this page.
Please remember that we cannot stop bullying without your help. We need to
be aware of the behaviors before we can stop them!!! Working together with
students and parents we can prevent bullying!!!

Complaint of Bullying
The Prince William County Public Schools Code of Behavior states, “Actions
which cause the physical, verbal, or emotional abuse of others will not be
tolerated. Taunts, threats, insults, gossip, humiliation, teasing, pushing,
tripping,
and hitting, are all considered to be bullying behaviors.” The principal and
staff of this school are committed to enforcement of the Code of Behavior
and will respond promptly and appropriately to complaints of bullying. Any
student can complain about bullying by talking to an administrator and/or
completing this form and returning it to an assistant principal or
principal. A copy of this form is also located in the guidance department or
main office.
