About Mrs. Lowe

I can't believe the 2012-2013 school year is half-way over!

Over the summer, I went on a mission trip, worked on the analysis of
my research studies, and celebrated my 20th wedding anniversary!

Over the past semester, we had great success with the Writing SOL--97% pass
rate (2 classes with 100%!)! We are still waiting on the Reading SOL scores
for the NEW SOL test.

I look forward to the meeting all of my new 2nd semester students.

I am a graduate of Old Dominion University, where I earned my undergraduate
degree in English Literature, and Walden University, where I earned my
M.S.Ed. I am currently working on my Ed.D. program. I am studying and
researching professional development and teacher retention. I have been
teaching at KGHS since January of 1999.

I was named the KGHS Teacher of the Year for 2012.

I am married and I have 2 children.

I enjoy reading, writing poetry, and spending time with my family. I am
very involved with my church.

I also enjoy the REDSKINS, JIMMIE JOHNSON (#48), and Major Crimes on TNT (so
sad to see The Closer end!).
I am also a news person! These are all good areas for extra credit!

Mission Statement

My mission is to enable my students to become successful learners, both in
and out of the classroom. To achieve this, I will care for, listen to, and
encourage all my students to reach their highest potential,
academically and personally. I believe in all my students and will instill
within each of them a belief in themselves. I will equip them to be
successful for today and the future.
