About The Teacher

My name is Christie Duerr and this is my 5th year at Kerrydale Elementary.  
For my first 4 years at Kerrydale I taught 2nd grade.  I taught middle 
school students with Learning Disabilities and Emotional 
Disturbance for 1  1/2 years prior to coming to Kerrydale.  I completed my 
Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Special Education from Longwood 
University.  I am also a National Board Certified Teacher.  To find out more

I have an adorable dog named Abby who you will hear lots about this year!  

I am on the Olweus Bullying Committee at Kerrydale, the R.e.a.ch Committee, 
and am the K-2 Math lead.  I am also a member of the Prince William 
Education Association Board of Directors as well as membership co-chair. I 
am very involved in both the Virginia Education Association and the National 
Education Association.

I am so excited about this year and I know we will have a great time!

My mission for this class is to develop a great relationship with my 
students, and foster a safe and friendly atmosphere in order for them to 
receive the best education possible.
