Homework

Each week your child will be bringing home a new set of words to study.
These words will serve as their spelling words and they will be given a test
on them each Friday. They will also have a test on their Word Wall words
for the week. The words we are working on are found at the bottom of the
homework paper. You may want to review these words, as well as rhymes for
these words, with your child.

Homework will follow the same format every week. On Mondays your child will
get their words for the week (10-12 words) and for homework they will need
to cut the word cards apart. The words should be kept in their binder in
the binder pouch, so they do not get lost. They will be needed for homework
all week long. You may wish to keep a small pair of scissors and a pencil
in the pouch also. Each day your child will have an activity to do with
their words and a math activity to complete. On Thursdays your child will
also need to complete the math Home Links. Please make sure you complete
both sides. The math Home Links will reinforce what we have already done in
the classroom. We have also included the Family Times from our Language
Arts series. It is just something extra for you. If time permits you might
want to try some of the ideas.
