It is hard to believe that October 1, will be this Wednesday. We are in
full swing and will have our first Geography Unit test on Wednesday. Study
sheets went home last Wednesday and the study guide will go home on Monday.
Students need to be studying continents, oceans, what makes the hemispheres;
prime meridian (eastern and western) equator (northern and southern. Both are
imaginary lines that divide the earth in half or hemispheres. Charts, graphs,
maps, and globes are visual aides. They need to be able to read a map and go
in different directions on that map to locate different continents. Ex: What
continent is east of North America. Continents will only be labeled by numbers.
We are also in our second unit in Math and will be studying graphs and
probability. It was great seeing everyone at Open House. Now that fall is
here we can always use tissues and paper towels. We are working hard to be
quality students that are responsible for our own learning and response-able
to the learning of the whole group.
