In the fourth grade, students will receive a grade in music for the first and
second semesters. The first semester grade will be based on the effort that
your child makes to learn how to play the recorder songs. You can greatly
assist your child by encouraging him/her to practice 5 minutes every day.
Each week, your child should be prepared to pass one song during his/her music
class time. Every child has been given a CD with most of the songs in the
recorder folder included, so that she/he can practice playing along with the
recording.
Your child should bring her/his recorder folder to music every week.
Even after your child has passed a song, he/she should continue to play it 5
times daily, to build up fluency and music reading skills.
