Calculus and Precalculus are classes awarded dual-enrollment credit from
Southside Virginia Community College. Calculus also participates in the
Advanced Placement program of College Testing.
College classes move at a faster pace, and there are fewer grades. Test
grades will constitute 50% of the six-weeks grade, quiz grades will
constitute 30% of the six-weeks grade, and classwork/projects will
constitute 20% of the six-weeks grade.
While enrolled in Calculus or Precalculus, your child is officially enrolled
at Southside Virginia Community College. They will be issued a student ID
from SVCC, and they will be able to use any of the college's facilities.
Nottoway County Public Schools will be paying the students' tuition, but
this tuition must be repaid if the students does not receive a grade of C or
higher.
Students who want individual tutoring will need to schedule these times with
me. I am usually available in the mornings at 7:30. Some afternoon times
may be arranged.
Dual-enrollment classes are graded using a 10-point scale.
