Mrs. Ellett is available to work with all fifth and sixth grade students here
at Nottoway Intermediate School, whenever needed. She completes classroom
guidance in both grades. She also coordinates all SOL testing in March and
then May of each school year. She registers all incoming student transfers
and prepares records for those students who withdraw during the year. She is
responsible for completing schedules for each student and updating them, when
necessary. Mrs. Ellett coordinates the school crisis team and updates all
information on students and teachers needed for the crisis box. She
recognizes students who have academically achieved success in their classes
and also those students who have been caught being good.
For our fifth graders, during classroom guidance, we have been discussing the
responsibilities as a student, family member, and friend to others. We also
talked about study skills and how these skills can help students become
better students. I talked about my roles here as a guidance counselor and
the fact that I am here for them whenever needed. Next week, I begin meeting
with our sixth graders emphasizing the different careers that are available
for students to think about for their future.
