The Candidate

You want to be Governor of Virginia. Your team of experts will help you accomplish your goal. In order to be elected, you must all work together.

The Campaign Manager

You have been chosen to lead the campaign. You are the leader of the campaign team. Is the team having problems? Solve them. Your goal is to get your candidate elected.

The Policy Guru

You are an integral part of the campaign team. What are your candidate's positions on the issues? Help him/her decide. Remember the national party platform. Your goal is to get your candidate elected.

The Speechwriter

The words you write are of great importance during this campaign. Your speeches will be remembered when sound bites are played over and over in the media. What are the concerns of the citizens living in Virginia? Your candidate's speeches must address these concerns. Your goal is to get your candidate elected.

The Ad Planner

Your ads will help your candidate be "everywhere" across the state. In order to reach all Virginia citizens, you must design an effective media campaign. Plan accordingly and remember, your goal is to get your candidate elected.

Attention Campaign Team -

The following tasks need to be completed...

1. You each need to read the information on the Two Party System and Running a Campaign. This information is located under each of your role links.

2. Read the additional information about your tasks while you are here. You may take notes, if you wish.

3. As a group, you need to determine which of the two major political parties your candidate will represent so that the Policy Guru can research the correct party's information.
