Use these sites to gather information for your report.  Your recommendations should be broad but include all stakeholders - students, families, teachers, administrators and community.  You should recommend policy, equipment guidelines, curriculum requirements, & benchmarks or standards.  You can include action plans and implementation standards.  Remember that you must justify your recommendations with data from the readings. 

Your report should consist of the facts as you found them and the recommendations that you are making based on those facts.  It should focus on what kind of technologies the school division should have, what the main use(s) should be and how to include it in the curriculum.

A table is a good way to present information in a logical, easily readable format.  There is a downloadable table template in the Documents section.

Internet Safety                       The Commonwealth of Virginia now requires (as of April 2006) that Acceptable Use Policies now include a component on Internet Safety for students.  This component must be integrated within a Division's instructional program, with full implementation beginning in Fall 2007.   Develop ideas for internet safety for students – “What does it encompass?  What should it include? Cyberbullying, Cell/camera-phones in school, Social-networking; P2P filesharing? Virginia has lost a student to suicide after 'Mobile-Flaming'. Can  students share personal information or secret movies/photos about

each other on personal web space without permission? Is it OK to identify their school/group on the internet? Can they use pictures taken at school events?

Assistive Technology             How can technology level the playing field for disabled users or handicapped learners?  Is the Division doing all it can to take advantage of those opportunities?  How do decision makers stay abreast of the latest developments in these areas?What is Universal Design?  How can it help all learners? What are the different levels of AT & what are examples at each level?
