Homework for 10/6 - 10/10
For Time, Tempo & Space Teams:
Today in class we talked about unity ("parts that come together to make
something whole") in artwork and in dance. Your homework assignment is to
write down examples of unity that you see in your everyday life. Your
examples should be at least the same number as your age. For example: if
you are 10 years old then you should have at least 10 examples of unity
written down. Your writing should be in complete sentences.
For Space, Shape, Energy, Effort & Form:

1. Today in class we talked about variety ["lack of sameness"] in
artwork and in dance. For your homework assignment you must use the symbol
provided in the artist’s canvas to demonstrate variety. [The symbol is a
half-circle]
Bonus: Add examples of contrast to your artwork.
Homework for 9/22- 9/26
1. Today in class we talked about contrast in artwork and in dance.
For your homework assignment you must bring in two items or draw 2 things
that demonstrate contrast.
Ideas of where you might find contrast:
• Magazine/ newspaper pictures
• Artwork
• Favorite books
• Your house/ your school
• dance
• Anywhere in the world around you!
2. Next, write down how your items or your pictures are different from
each other.
3. If you have any questions about contrast write them down so that
they can be added to the “Question Board.”
September 15-19
Homework for Dance Perspectives class
1. Today in class we talked about repetition in artwork. For your
homework assignment you must create your own repeating visual pattern with
at least 5 different symbols on a sheet of paper.
Example:
$ ^ * $ ^ * ~ ~ > ~ ~ $ ^ * $ ^ * ~ ~ > ~ ~ $ ^ * $ ^ * ~ ~ > ~ ~
2. After you have created your repeating visual pattern you must assign
each symbol a movement (any movement you wish). Make sure you write down a
key to document the movement that matches with each symbol.

Most importantly- don’t forget to be creative!!!!! Be ready to share your
homework assignment with your peers!
