This will be my 8th year at Old Donation Center. I have a Bachelor's in
child psychology with a minor in social welfare. I am currently working
towards my Master's in education and my endorsement in gifted education. My
personal philosphy in education is the
importance of teaching the whole child, academically, physically, and
socially.
I have been married for 21 years. My son Michael is a Senior at Cox High
School. Michael attended O.D.C. for elementary school and Kemps Landing
Magnet for middle school. My daughter Noe attended John B. Dey elementary
school and is now is in 7th grade at Great Neck Middle
School. Noe attends the dance program at O.D.C. I believe in Virginia
Beach City Public Schools and have been extremely pleased at each individual
path my children have taken and the opportunities our system has made
available to them.
In my free time, I enjoy golf, exercising and watching the sunset on the
beach
with family and friends.
Children will grow academically and socially in a flexible and supportive
learning environment. My goal is to guide students in a relaxed yet
challenging environment, encouraging responsibility and autonomy, supporting
their different needs, and emphasizing their individual strengths. Our
classroom is an environment where children are safe from ridicule and
bullying. Our classroom is filled with good feelings, laughter, and active
learning.
