Week of September 29th to October 3rd.
Monday: Quiz on Chapter 22 The Great Depression Begins.
Tuesday: Read Section 1 of Chapter 23: The New Deal.
Homework: In your own words explain why Roosevelt's New Deal was a good idea 
and the fact that if he was trying to "pack" the Supreme Court with those 
who favored the New Deal was an honorable measure. 
Wednesday: Powerpoint and class discussion on Section 1.
Homework: Read Section 2 of Chapter 23: The Second New Deal Takes Place.
Explain why the Social Security Act should be considered the most important 
achievement of the New Deal?  Thin about the types of relief that were 
needed in the 1930s, the alternatives to government assistance to the 
elderly, the unemployed and the disabled. 
Thursday: Class discussion and powerpoint.
Homework: Read section 3 of Chapter 23: The New Deal Affects Many Groups.
Friday: Powerpoint presentation on Section 3. 

Week of October 6 to October 10th.
Monday: Substitute teacher, complete assignement in class.
Tuesday:  Review Chapter 23.
Homework: Study for Test on Chapter 23.
Wednesday: Test on Chapter 23.
Thursday:  Begin Chapter 24: World War II. Powerpoint presentation and 
discussion.
Homework:  Answer the following question.  Why do you think the Treaty of 
Versailles was not effective in creating a lasting peace in Europe and why 
do you think Hitler and Mussolini were able to establish the Nazi and 
Fascist parties in Germany and Italy.
Friday: Discuss homework and begin Section 2: War in Europe.

Homework: Read Section 4: Culture in the 1930s.
