Welcome to the 2015-2016 school year. I look forward to getting to know you
over the next nine months. It should be an exciting year to study government
due all the foreign and domestic challenges facing the country. We will
have elections for the Virginia state legislature in November and you will
get a chance to work on a campaign. We will also follow the presidential
primaries and caucuses as they occur in the winter and spring of 2016.
As you know, our two political parties are quite polarized but this might be
the year that we cycle out of that pattern and find bipartisan solutions to
the problems our nation faces.
I hope studying government will be an enjoyable experience for you.
If I can help you in any way please feel free to stop by my classroom before
or after school.
