Students will view and discuss "Judgment at Nuremburg." Case study will be
introduced. Students will discuss conditions in Germany at the time of the
trials.
Homework for Tuesday, 12 May 2009: The Nuremburg Trials, read text p 974,
and other readings, as assigned. Students will view and discuss "Judgment
at Nuremburg." Focus will be on the circumstances of the trial, how
politics may have influenced the trial, the nature of the defendents and
witnesses.
Homework for Wednesday, 13 May 2009: The Nuremburg Trials, read text, p
974, and other readings as assigned. Focus will be on the character of
justice in Germany under Hitler, the anti-semitic laws of 1935 and the
general awareness of Holocaust by the German people.
Homework for Thursday, 14 May 2009: The Nuremburg Trials, read text, p974
and other readings as assigned. Focus will be on the Berlin Blockade, the
films of the concentration camps and the conduct of the trial and defense
counsels.
Homework for Friday, 15 May 2009: Class drops.
Homework for Monday, 18 May 2009: Prepare for test on The Nuremburg
Trials. Students should review notes from the film and class discussion.
