Graded homework is an important component of the course grade. Please see
the applicable course syllabus, included at this web site, for the graded
homework percentage weighting of the overall quarterly grade.
Graded homework is assigned well in advance. Late homework is not accepted
for any reason, including illness. However, in order to protect for illness,
memory lapses, or other unforeseen circumstances, the lowest homework grade
in each quarter will be automatically dropped. This drop is awarded
primarily to protect against illness, but will also serve to protect
forgotten assignments and homeworks that earn low grades. Successful
students who have already "used their drop" prior to quarter's end ensure
success by handing in the remaining quarter's homework a day or two before
the final due date.
As discussed in class, and included in bold on the syllabus, graded
homework is to be completed without the sharing of answers from other PVI
students. Graded homework help, however, is certainly encouraged with
Mr.Latter, parents, designated tutors, or siblings being perfectly
acceptable help. Sharing of answers on graded homework among PVI students
will be treated as dishonesty with consequences being consistent with
school policy.
