Welcome to Freshmen Religion. This class is an introduction to the study of the Christian Scriptures or New Testament in light of the Mystery of Jesus Christ, the Living Word of God, and the second person of the Blessed Trinity. The course presents an understanding how the New Testament writings originated and their relationship to the Old Testament. Emphasis is placed on the person and teachings of Jesus taken directly from the Gospels. Students will understand that Jesus Christ is the ultimate revelation to us from God. In learning about who He is, the students will also learn who He calls them to be. A variety of classroom learning styles, projects, films, and student writings reinforce the textbook material. Reading the Bible itself as a guide will help students become familiar with Jesus Christ within the Scriptures.

There is a class review prior to each test. Arrangements to make-up missed tests are to be made by the student the first day the student returns to school.
All assignments are to be handed in when they are due. Homework turned in must have the student¡¯s name and the date the assignment is due. Late homework will result lowering your grade by one letter grade.
If you are absent it is your responsibility to get any class material and homework assignment from a classmate or from the teacher. If you are absent when an assignment is collected it must be turned into the teacher the next day you are in school. Homework assignments can be found on my webpage.
If at any time you are having difficulty of any kind, please come and talk with me. I understand that unexpected difficulties, personal issues, demands, etc. come up. Life just happens and we cannot always follow through on our best intentions. Please just let me know.
Early Dismissal For Athletes / Activities
If you know that you are leaving class early or will not be present because of a game, please inform me the day before the game. If you miss a test, you must schedule a time with the teacher to make-up the test. I am conscious of the travel time getting back from away games. I will do my best not to schedule a test the day after any freshmen game.
Academic Honesty
I know that you are aware of what is expected of you. Each student is expected to ¡°stay under the shade of your own palm tree. Any violations of honesty will have serious consequences as stated in the Student Handbook.
