Wow - two weeks from tomorrow, and we will be getting ready for Thanksgiving!  Keep working hard!

All my classes:  Please don't forget that I will be testing in ALL my classes this Thursday.  Now, some of you Juniors have rough days on Thursday already.  Please come and talk to me if this will be a burden, and we will make other arrangements.  Now, to be clear, this means that you will need to make up the test either before or after school, and as soon as possible after Thursday.

Homework Grading:  I will be making a slight change to how I calculate my homework grades.  Last quarter, when I accumulated three homework grades, I recorded the grade.  This quarter, I will wait until I have accumulated four homework grades.  Students should not see any difference in the grades, other than there being a couple fewer homework grades at the end of the quarter.  If you have any questions, please let me know.

A quick note about your grades.  Some of you may notice a grade or two be adjusted over the weekend.  First of all, don't worry - I have never adjusted a grade down.  If I have made a mistake in your favor, consider it a small gift, and be thankful.  But I occasionally discover mistakes that I have made, or grades that I didn't update from my paper grade copies.

Additionally, Junior Math League results will be added to test grades, for those of you that participated.

As always, if you have any questions, feel free to send me an email.  Thanks.

Have a wonderful and SAFE All Hallow's Eve!

Welcome to the LAST week of Quarter 1!

Students:  A large number of you have missed some school due to illness recently.  If possible, please make up the Quiz from last week today.  If you are swamped with makeup work, please come to talk to me so we can make arrangements for getting it done.  If you are still sick, please stay home.  YOUR HEALTH TAKES PRIORITY!  (And related to that, not infecting anyone at school (meaning me) takes priority!)  Regardless, if you have any questions, please stop by, or send me an email, and we will figure out the best course of action.  Thanks.

Students:  The testing day for the Math department is Friday, the 30th.  Please be ready for a big test on Friday in all my classes.

I should be available, as usual, both before and after school all week, if you would like to come for extra help.  Remember that every Wednesday, I need to leave the building by 3:40PM.  Thanks.

Welcome to October!

Students:  A reminder about homework.  If you are absent a day or two, you do get the equivalent amount of time to make up the homework and assignments that you have missed.  But please remember - it is YOUR responsibility to show me any homework that was due while you were out.  A number of students have come to me wondering why they received a lower grade than expected on a batch of homework.  In many of these cases, the student missed a day but never showed me the homework that was due the day they were out.  Please make sure that you get credit for what you have done as soon as you return from your absence, NOT a week later.  Thank you.

Welcome to the first full week of the year for you students!

1.  Interim Grades close on Friday morning of this week.  My grades for Interims will close as of Thursday morning.  Therefore, the Tests in my classes at the end of the week WILL NOT be on Interims.

2.  Parents, please note.  Up to this point in all my classes a fair amount of material has been review.  New material will start coming fast and furious very soon.  Therefore the difficulty will be increasing, as well.  Please maintain a close watch on your Student's online grades.  A great grade at the first Interims is wonderful, but sometimes that dips rapidly by the end of the quarter.
