Will parents have the opportunity for a conference at the end of each quarter?

Yes, but in fairness, those with academic difficulty WILL be
scheduled first.
If there is not enough time to schedule others Mr. Taylor
will arrange a mutually agreed upon time to see other parents.
For those coming to conferences it would be helpful if you
brought your
student's notebook and their graded tests. (I return ALL graded
materials to the student).
Please remember that it is first come, first served, and we
cannot always
give you the exact time you want. We will try though.

How do I succeed in Mr. Taylor's class

Easy. If you do your homework, turn in ALL assignments, WHEN THEY
ARE DUE,
pay attention in class, and study the material(s) I give you
there is really
no way for you to fail. Another old saying;if you are determined
I won't
get in your way. If you listen, study, and work hard success WILL
come your
way.

What is cheating, plagerism, academic dishonesty?

At the beginning of school we will spend some time on this
subject. I will
instruct you as to what is/is not acceptable for my classes. I
will give you
a handout that you can discuss with your parents. This is not a
"big deal"
if you just be honest about your work.ALL incidents of
cheating/plagerism WILL be reported to the Dean of Students and a
grade of ZERO will be given for that work.

What about extra credit?

What about it? There is NONE. If you do what you are supposed to
you will
neither need extra credit nor will you have time. I'm just old
fashioned.
One little paper, project, etc. does not make up for a quarter's
work. If
you do the assignments, completed, on time, you will not need
extra credit.

What is the policy on late work?

I will accept late work-any work is better than none. I will,
however, lower
your grade one letter grade for each day work is late. At the
same time, no
work turned in will result in a zero (O). This may seem harsh,
but in
fairness to those who prepared and are on time this has to be the
case. If
there is going to be a problem see me in advance, I have been
known to have
a sympathetic ear.
WORK NOT TURNED IN/MADE UP AFTER THREE SCHOOL DAYS WILL BECOME A
ZERO.

Technology

My son says that I am a little short of neanderthal in this area.
He may be
correct. I do know this. There are two places in the school where
you may
use computers. (library and tech lab)Familiarize yourself with
these places.
Excuses such as,my printer broke,my disc did not work, and other
variations WILL NOT be accepted. Plan ahead. If you wait until
the last
minute to prepare anything and everything will go wrong. My
assignments are
given far enough in advance to overcome most obsticles...and if I
know this,
I know, you know a lot more.
