SECOND QUARTER

ENGLISH
The first day of the week, the students will be working in their individual spelling workbook. The first order of the spelling workbook is to read the words aloud to the teacher and then copy the word  once on the given line. The words are covered and a pre-quiz is given. The student corrects the words and moves to the next sections of the workbook. Homework is assigned due the end of the week. The second day of the week will be spent working in the SadlierOxford Grammar book or in the Reasoning and Writing program by McGraw Hill..


 

READING   
    Reading
will cover the remainder of the week. Each student will be given the opportunity to read aloud to the group stopping for comprehension check and then a final comprehension review at the end of the chapter or story.  
     During class the students will be reading A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens
 .
December and January will be spent reading about different holidays and Martin Luther King.
