SECOND QUARTER PROJECT
You and a small group of your peers will put together a Photo-Story that will Explain to your classmates the Anatomy, Functions, Physiology, Care, Injuries and Illnesses that affect the Body System assigned to your group.
A Photo-Story is a Voice Recorded Story of Still Pictures that is saved on the computer as a movie-- a Digital Slideshow.
DUE: MONDAY, DECEMBER 14, 2009
FYI (Further Information on the Second Quarter Photo-Story Project!):
Monday, November 9th, all classes (and First Period on Tuesday) will meet in Room 227: the Resource Center. You will receive a Formal Introduction to your Second Quarter Photo-Story Project. Small Groups & Body Systems will be assigned, and Mrs. Lande will deliver a lesson in Researching Data Bases and Citing one's work. You all will have an opportunity to see an example of a Photo-Story, and possibly begin researching.
You will need to Demonstrate knowledge of:
Functions-> Why is the System important to the body?
Anatomy-> What body parts/ organs are included in the System?
Physiology-> How does the system work in the body?
Maintenance-> How does one take care of the body system?
Illnesses/ Injuries-> What outside afflictions can affect this body system?
The information you collect will be used to help you write a script that you will be reading (a.k.a. voicing over) while a still picture show plays via the computer to reinforce your message.
If you use your time wisely, you could/should be able to complete this project in school (during school hours). I am allowed to write passes for you to use the technology lab and/or the resource center during your study hall. PLEASE keep track of your sources for both pictures and information!!! This will all go on your "credits" page.
We will be combining our findings with our group members during class on December 8th (6th -8th periods), December 9th -11th (all classes), to allow everybody at least three days with their group: to learn the Photo-Story program, order your pictures, record your scripts, edit and finalize your projects. On Monday, December 14th, we will be meeting in the Resource Center to Upload your work onto your MYPVI Portfolio, and Post your completed project to my Interactive Classroom.
DUE: End of Class MONDAY, 12/14/09

Projects will be assigned in the Second and Fourth Quarters of Health/PE, when we are in the classroom.
Projects will count for 20% of the students' Quarter grade.
With each Project assignment, the Students will become familiar with and utilize a form of Technology that will envelop an aspect of the Ninth Grade Health Curriculum and allow for maximum student creativity!
More information on Projects will be posted as we draw nearer to the Second Quarter.
