All classes are graded on the basis of
total points.
-
Quizzes: Quizzes will be given to cover assigned
readings. Point value will be determined by the length and difficulty of the
reading.
-
Classroom exercises, scenes, improvs: Every
activity in class will be given a point value. Students who are absent for
classroom exercises will be required to do a make up assignment.
-
Projects: There will be at least two major scenes
per semester. Each scene will be assigned points according to the skills the
scene is intended to demonstrate. There is also a Class Participation point
given every day for preparedness (bringing scripts, pencils, props, etc.) and
for class time used productively. No student will be allowed to leave the
classroom to retrieve forgotten items. Do not bring in any prop that is
valuable or dangerous! When in doubt, ask.
-
Intro to Theater classes are required to see one
live stage performance during the course of the semester. Students seeing PVI
productions must check in with the teacher. Students seeing something outside
PVI must bring a program and write a one page review of the performance.
-
Acting Ensemble class members are required to
participate in all PVI productions unless a substitute assignment is approved
by the instructor.
-
Rules and regulations for theater classes are posted on the Handouts and
Policy page.
