My Philosophy about homework in Math is that it is so very vital to the
student's learning that he/she continue his/her learning of Math at home in
the evening. Reinforcement and repetition are necessary to learning. Since I
want my students to reach for the stars and do the best they can do in Math
for the greater glory of God, there will be homework most evenings in Math. I
so appreciate your assistance in this matter. I ask that you let your teen
try to do the homework on his/her own first. If they are unable, then by all
means, please provide assistance. Always check your teens homework. You can
make your corrections in another color, if you so choose. Do not do the
homework for the student as this serves no purpose whatsoever. Remember that
you as a parent are the primary educator of your teen. We are a team to help
them reach their potential and even stretch beyond!
Homework is due the next day that the class meets. Math homework is expected
to be done on looseleaf or graph paper. Please do remember that it is so very
important to be neat in Math! Math homework does count towards your grade and
is worth 25% of your grade. Homework that is handed in late will receive a
lower grade.
