Due dates:  Jan 8th for podcast (75%).  Jan 13th for comments on each page of 
the players in your section (25%).

Directions for Podcast 
(Your 1st Semester project will be two-fold.  Firstly, you will make a 
PODCAST  on material that has been prepared 2nd quarter.  Secondly, you will 
comment on other podcasts within your group.

Uploading your podcast to the wiki:
1.	Upload your podcast (mp3 format).   Click on Upload Files. 
2.	Edit your individual page.  Click on your name below.  Click on 
Edit.  
3.	Type in  your last name and "1st semester project"  
4.	Highlight the title of your podcast and click on the name of it under 
insert links and files (on the right). 
1) Introduce yourself and perform the excerpt(s). Play at performance tempo, 
no stops (you may skip any rests).

            Commenting on a classmate's podcast:
                  Purpose: Help each other to improve their playing.
a.  All comments should begin with your name and then should be charitable, 
specific, and constructive.
b.  Referencing the below categories, address each of the 5 aspects of playing
c.  You must write comments for everyone's Podcast in your group
d.  Podcast deadline January 8, 2010.  Comments deadline January 13, 2010
 
Comments categories
 Tone (e.g. Excellent, full, supported sound characteristic of the 
instrument.  Generally in tune.  Hot air.  Dark, rich, resonant sound.  
Embouchure/bow grip/stick hand position is correct/Good beginning sound, 
fairly well-supported and clear.  A little “airy,” “ Fuzzy,” “edgy” 
or “harsh”.		Soft sound – little air support )
Articulation (e.g.  No errors. Correct slurring or tonguing pattern. 
Performed all staccatos and accents.  Correct bowing/picking/strumming, 
occasional slurring or tonguing errors. Some lack of attention to staccatos 
and accents)
Rhythm (e.g.	 All rhythms correct/One or two errors or slightly uneven - 
if so, where?)
Technique	(e.g. No errors.  Smooth performance.  Reads and fingers with 
no hesitation/A few errors, some hesitance, or choppy performance/needs to be 
faster)
Dynamics	(e.g. Correct dynamics, good contrasts, needs more contrasts).
