Mrs. Wonder was born and grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She has
attended Catholic schools for 18 years and has worked at Paul VI Catholic
High School for more than eight years. Mrs. Wonder's educational experience
includes a Master of Education degree with a concentration in Special
Education, Learning Disabilities. She has taught in the DeSales Learning
Center, Academic Support Program and the Options Program during her tenure
at PVI.
Prior to joining the PVI school community, Mrs. Wonder worked for over
twelve years in audit,and trust and estates administration. She is married
and
has three children.
Mrs. Wonder enjoys cooking, gardening, reading, and spending time with her
family. Every summer, Mrs. Wonder spends a week in Ocean City, New Jersey
with her six siblings and her twenty five nieces and nephews, who range in
age from 32 to 8 years old.
Mrs. Wonder's favorite things include soft pretzels (but only the kind that
are sold on the street corners in Philadelphia), pizza from Mack and
Mancko's on the boardwalk in Ocean City (NJ), and her old dog Charlie, who
despite his age, is constantly learning new ways to escape from the yard.
Who
said an old dog can't teach you new tricks?
DeSales Learning Center (DSLC) provides specialized tutorial support to
average and above average students who have a diagnosed mild to moderate
learning disability. DSLC teachers closely monitor student academics
progress and provide skill reinforcement in most subject areas. Instruction
takes place within the context of the academic course load each student has
undertaken.
