| Sept 12:
Today we explored the new PVI website and did a virtual scavenger hunt which
we will continue tomorrow. We will soon begin to use Mavis Beacon to work
on typing skills.
Sept 27:
We are using the IMDB website and researching our favorite movies. We will
be writing a movie review with the information from the site.
Oct 17th:
We have worked on using the internet to perform webquests. We did one on
Christopher Columbus and also one all about pencils! Now we are working on
a powerpoint presentation about either Halloween, Thanksgiving or Christmas.
Oct 29:
Students have done a great job on their powerpoints and are mostly
completed!!! I'm impressed with the colors and pictures used! We hope to
be able to have students present their powerpoints to their friends sometime
soon.
Nov 28th:
We used Excel to make a spread sheet of what we are thankful for and used
the summation code to "count our blessings" on the Excel spreadsheet. Then
with that data we have made Thanksgiving cards using Microsoft Publisher and
had them printed in color to give to our families. Today we worked on
another card, but this time we created Christmas cards that will be sent to
Mrs. Demarais' brother in law who is stationed in Iraq.
Dec 5th:
Using Publisher, clip art and Google Image, we "decorated" a Christmas tree
with presents we'd like to receive or give to our loved ones. We are
practicing cutting and pasting, as well as resizing photos.
Feb 1st: some things we've done recently: created fliers using Publisher,
different activities using Excel and counting coins and creating bar graphs,
New Year's webquest, Name poems, teacher appreciaton cards and
poems
