Write a one paragraph exposition of a story with a clear mood. Use specific images and details to create a setting and atmosphere; use "picture words" to evoke a mood in your reader. !!You may add this on to the draft of the story you have written; you DO NOT have to do so!!

Read "The Necklace" p169; respond in Quote Journal format (hotdog style columns with quotations on the left and your explanation/commentary/response on the right) Your quotations should be examples of:
- Indirect Characterization: 1 example for Mr Loisel AND 1 for Madame Loisel
- Direct Characterization: 1 example for Mr Loisel AND 1 for Madame Loisel
- You need at least two sentences of commentary per quote, explaining what kind of characterization it is and what you now know or understand about that character.
- Finally tell me whether Madame Loisel and Monsieur Loisel are dynamic or static characters.

- write a paragraph of at least 5 sentences explaining how Danny or Reuven has changed in The Chosen. You must use TEXTUAL evidence (at least one quote, ACTUAL WORDS FROM THE BOOK, and a page number citation). Use the sentence directly from the book to PROVE how Danny or Reuven has changed. You must include a page number in order to receive credit.
- BINDER CHECK WEDNESDAY: Your binder must have: dividers (Unit Work, Literary Skills, Writing Skills, Returned Tests/Writing) and tons of loose leaf paper. ALL OTHER SUPPLIES due WEDNESDAY ALSO (composition book, index cards, grammar book, vocab book)
- Bring The Chosen to class EVERY DAY.
