Homework

Please remember to sign your child's nightly reading log. Spelling will begin next week. Check out the "Spelling" link to find out how we do our individualized spelling lists. Weekly papers will go home on Wednesday.

Your child will have homework every night (except for special occasions!) Homework will consist of a Math Home Link or Math Worksheet; Reading for 20 minutes--sometimes it will be assigned reading, but mostly it will be free choice; and oftentimes an assignment in Social Studies or Science.

Homework should take no longer than 30 minutes (without the reading). If it is taking your child longer, please let me know and we will adjust his/her workload.

Your child will write down his/her homework in their planner each day. Please check it each night. If your child is consistently not writing down their homework or not completing it, we will have to begin a system where you and I will sign their planner each day/night.

 I will try to post long term homework assignments here on the website, but day to day homework will be communicated through your child's planner.

I know there will be times that your child will not get his homework done due to family issues that will take priority. Don't worry, I have kids too and I totally understand. Just send a note in the homework folder to let me know.
